Free-from cake mix hits shelves
Free-from food brand Free and Easy has tapped into the bakery market with its range of cake mixes.
The product range will be suitable for those with allergies or intolerances to most common allergens – including wheat, gluten, dairy, nuts and soya – as well as consumers following a vegetarian or vegan diet, claimed Free and Easy.
Three of the mixes – sponge cake, carrot cake and ginger cake – are made with coconut blossom sugar. Its sugar-free chocolate cake mix is made with xylitol – a sugar alcohol used as a sweetener.
Free and Easy owner Healthy Food Brands’s md Cliff Moss said: “Our objective in creating this new range was to combine our free-from expertise with a commitment to wholesome, natural ingredients.
“We are hopeful that these new products for the Free and Easy brand will make shopping for and cooking simple, tasty and naturally-inspired desserts suitable for those with specific eating requirements an easier undertaking.”
