Gin-infused jam reduces food waste
Premium gin brand Pinkster has teamed up with The Wooden Spoon Preserving Company to launch an alcoholic jam.
Gin Jam is made with fresh gin-infused raspberries, left over from Pinksters gin production. It is 2.5% alcohol by volume.
Md Stephen Marsh said the majority of the firm’s left over raspberries get turned into its dessert ingredient Boozy Berries, while the ones too “mashed” are turned into the jam.
“Jam appears to be on-trend as a cocktail ingredient and, buoyed by the trade reaction to our own gin ‘n’ Jam cocktail, the logical next step was to produce the jam itself,” added Marsh.
