Replacement needed for Red Tractor boss
Assured Food Standards (AFS), the company that operates the Red Tractor quality assurance scheme revealed it was on the hunt for a new chairman to replace David Gregory.
Gregory will stand down at the end of September having completed the maximum six years’ service allowed.
His replacement will be required to work 50 days a year and have experience of accountability at board and chair level and a good knowledge of the food supply chain, AFS said.
During Gregory’s time in charge, the presence of the Red Tractor logo on food products has grown by 40% and now appears on more than £11bn worth of products.
Meurig Raymond, president of the National Farmers’ Union, said: “The chairmanship of AFS is a key role and I want to thank David Gregory for leading the company forward, securing its financial position and ensuring synergy between all the sectors involved in Red Tractor.”
