Berryman steps down as Leatherhead ceo
Leatherhead Food Research’s ceo Paul Berryman stood down from his role this month after eight years with the company.
Berryman joined Leatherhead as director of research in 2005, before taking up the role of ceo in 2007.
He said he had enjoyed being involved in interesting research projects that had a real effect on the foods people eat during his time at Leatherhead, but felt it was the right time to move on.
"After two years as research director and nearly six as ceo, I think it’s time to pass on the baton. It has been an honour and privilege to lead an organisation with such a superb reputation and calibre of staff. Food science really is an excellent career choice.”
Until a replacement is found, current Leatherhead chairman Geoff Spriegel will take over the role in an interim capacity.
Spriegel thanked Berryman for his contribution and improvements to the company over the past eight years.
