Packaging error for cheese company
A packaging error has forced cheese maker Bradbury & Son to recall certain 195g packs of its ‘low cholesterol’ cheese alternative, Lo-Col.
The presence of milk in the product was not emphasised in bold text on the labels, a requirement in the UK for all allergens in food. This meant the cheese posed a potential health risk to consumers that were allergic to the ingredient.
Bradbury & Son recalled affected packs with best-before dates of 19 September 2018, 1 October 2018, 13 October 2018, 7 October 2018 and 9 October 2018.
The manufacturer apologised for any inconvenience caused and directed consumers to return the product to the store it was purchased from.
