Teriyaki sauce goes gluten-free
Sauces and seasonings manufacturer Kikkoman has released a gluten-free teriyaki marinade to sit alongside its gluten-free soy sauce.
Produced in response to a growing trend of consumers choosing to eat free-from diets, the marinade is made using Tamari gluten-free soy sauce, wine and spices.
The teriyaki market is worth £4.4M, according to Nielsen, and is growing 11.6% year-on-year. Kikkoman has a 43.6% market share and has forecast a 38% growth in volume.
Kikkoman UK manager Bing-yu Lee said: “The success of our Tamari gluten-free soy sauce is evidence of the growing demand from consumers for a wheat-free alternative. We are confident that our new gluten-free teriyaki marinade will be a winner too.”
