Ex-Asda boss lands discounter role
Asda’s former chief executive Andy Bond will take control of discount retailer Poundland, after the sudden exit of Kevin O’Byrne.
Bond will take over as executive chairman of Poundland’s parent company Steinhoff and will run the retailer from the start of next year.
Meanwhile, O’Byrne has been appointed chief financial officer of Sainsbury replacing John Rogers, who moves to become chief executive of Sainsbury’s Argos.
