Deli Santé’s factory manager’s plan for boost in business
Bakery manufacturer Deli Santé’s factory manager Lillian Kiely told Food Manufacture she was preparing the factory to handle the boost in capacity needed should the firm secure new cotracts with leading retailers.
Kiely, a 15-year veteran of the food industry, said the site in Winslow, Buckinghamshire was only running at 60% capacity but could easily handle more.
Deli Santé’s turnover is currently produces 50,000 units a day and turnovers £5M a year. The firm’s founders Charles Coleman and John Pearson are aiming to be turning over £7M with the help of new contracts, Kiely said.
The former Samworth Brothers, Amy’s Kitchen, McVitie’s and Buckingham Foods worker revealed the business had invested £750,000 in the site since it acquired it from a bakery firm for £2.5M.
Kiely said her experience in the industry had helped her overcome “hiccups” such as increased demand or problems with deliveries.
