Cook grows capacity and staff
As Cook’s operations director guided Food Manufacture around its Kent factory he would have been excused for bragging about the 200% capacity growth over the past year.
Instead Mark Dennis told our sister magazine about his fear of the place burning down. It’s this fear that has prompted him to be prepared for any disaster. For example, the firm keeps enough storage frozen in stock should disaster strike.
Luckily, for Dennis, it hasn’t and he has seen staff grown from 75 to 200 since 2007 and the aforementioned capacity growth.
This growth has called for a £1M investment for double the size of the site and boost output to 500,000 products a week.
People are an important factor to the way Dennis likes to operate, listen to our podcast with him to hear about the benefits of the human hand.
