Co-operative appoints new boss
The Co-operative Group ended a two-year search for a new leader this month.
Former Asda boss Allan Leighton is the man tasked with leading the society under its reformed governance structure.
Leighton is the Co-operative’s first independent non-executive chairman.
He took over from Ursula Lidbetter who had chaired the group since its previous chairman Len Wardle resigned as a result of a widely-publicised scandal involving its former Bank boss Paul Flowers.
As a result, the society launched a thorough review of its leadership structure.
