Coming in at number three is Munch Brunch and Ski yogurt manufacturer Groupe Lactalis, with a turnover of £11.6bn.
Cheese is the core business for the family-run French dairy firm, accounting for 34% of its sales.
Its cheese brands include Seriously Strong Cheddar, Président, Galbani, Galloway Cheddar, Orkney Cheddar and Capricorn.
Formed in 1933 in Laval, western France, by Andre Besnier with a single employee, the firm is now run by his grandson Emmauel Besnier and has production sites in Europe, America and the Middle East.
It has six UK production sites in Orkney, Stranraer, Aberystwyth, Crewe, Redhill and Chard.
Lactalis bought Welsh dairy firm Rachel’s, along with its Aberystwyth factory in 2010.
The firm has a dedicated division which specialises in fresh milk which accounts for 25% of the company turnover, as well as another which specialises in yogurts and chilled desserts which account for 13% of the turnover.
