Insect snack firm Jimini’s have developed new flavours to appeal to the British snack market, based on some of the nation’s favourite crisp flavours.
Now available from Jimini’s are Buffalo Worms in Spicy Chilli and Sour Cream & Onion flavour and Salt & Vinegar Crickets.
The insect snacks are cooked in France with 100% European edible insects and are 100% natural. They are made by first dehydrating the bugs before slowly baking them at a low temperature to preserve their nutritional values.
A statement from the company said: “To make insects more appealing, Jimini’s have tried to present them in a number of different ways to make them more accessible and familiar.
“The recently re-released energy and protein bars contain cricket flour rather than the whole insects themselves. Now, using popular British flavours, Jimini’s hopes to encourage more consumers to try these whole insects.”
