Leadership changes at Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola Company has appointed president and chief operating officer James Quincey (left) as its next ceo, effective from May 1 2017.
He is to replace Muhtar Kent (right), who will remain as chairman of the company’s board of directors.
Coca-Cola’s board of directors planned to nominate Quincey to stand for election as a director at the company’s annual share-owners’ meeting in April 2017.
Quincey said he was honoured by his appointment and was committed to continuing a strong partnership with Kent.
“We have a strong leadership tradition within the Coca-Cola system, and it’s a humbling experience to be selected for a role that has been held by Muhtar and so many great role models throughout the company’s history,” said Quincey.
