Tom Carroll
As supply chain director at Graze, Tom Carroll has been instrumental in steering the fast-growing online healthy snack provider’s expansion plans, most notably with moves into both retail and the US market.
Set up six years ago, Graze takes an ‘omnichannel’ approach to marketing snacks, and uses sophisticated computer data systems to create a dialogue with its online customers.
Customers are encouraged to rate the snacks received, and Graze uses the data to tailor its snack catalogue and target sales.
Speaking at Food Manufacture Group’s ‘New frontiers in food & drink innovation’ conference earlier this year, Carroll said Graze – which won the Judges’ Star Performer award at the 2014 Food Manufacture Excellence Awards – will reach a turnover of £105M this year.
He also reported that the US business was now profitable, and that Graze would launch its range of products in US supermarkets this summer, following a similar roll-out in the UK last year.
Other company successes under Carroll’s stewardship include the capability to launch a new product with 48 hours and a box folding robot that can fold cardboard up to 16 different ways.
