Widespread changes at the AHDB
The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) made widespread changes to its leadership structure this month.
Leading the line was three new sector strategy directors for its horticulture, cereals & oilseeds and dairy divisions.
Amanda Ball (pictured) was handed the role of strategy director – dairy following 10 years of service at the AHDB.
Steve Tones and Dr Martin Grantley-Smith were appointed as strategy director for horticulture and cereal & oilseeds respectively.
All three are internal promotions and will start in their new roles on Monday October 5. These three join the two strategy directors already in post – Mick Sloyan for pork and Rob Clayton for potatoes.
The recruitment of the sixth strategy director for beef & lamb will be completed in early October to replace Nick Allen, who is AHDB’s new market development director.
Also starting new roles at the AHDB on October 5 will be Chris Lloyd as research and development and knowledge exchange director for livestock and Dr Bill Parker, who already holds the equivalent directorship for crops.
