Yorkshire yogurt firm finds gap in £2.1bn market
The Wensleydale Creamery launched a luxury ‘Yorkshire Yogurt’ range in a bid to tap into the £2.1bn yogurt category.
Produced using Yorkshire milk, the range is available in four flavours: strawberry and raspberry; lemon curd; rhubarb and vanilla and toffee apple.
The firm spotted a “clear gap in the market” for a luxury Yorkshire yogurt range with a focus on premium quality and a naturally creamy taste, its md David Hartley claimed.
“Our research clearly illustrated that consumers desire a luxury yogurt delivering great taste and flavour, without the need to add cream,” he added.
Yorkshire Yogurt will be sold in Asda stores, independent farm shops and delis and the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre.
