Health dominates food and drink innovations

Taste, however, remained a major factor for food and drink manufacturers, with many altering their products to include on-trend ingredients or whacky flavours.

Honey on toast, rhubarb, tea and biscuits and butter and sage were just some of the flavours manufacturers have included in their new product development.

Innovation conference ​

Meanwhile, Innovation in food and drink will be the focus of a one-day conference on March 17 2016, staged by the Food Manufacture Group.

New Frontiers in Food and Drink will be take place at etc.venues, St Pauls, London. 

Speakers will include Leatherhead Food Research’s principle food safety advisor Peter Wareing and University of Oxford Professor of experimental psychology Charles Spence.
