Boston-based veg producer Staples Vegetables’ long-term strategy of acquisition and investment earned it a place on the list.
It employs around 600 people and operates the largest single production unit of brassicas in Britain.
Staples farm is in excess of 10,000 acres, spread across a number of production sites in the UK.
It has invested in 16 winter fill reservoirs and a 1.4MW biogas plant to make it 100% self-sufficient and protect against environmental challenges.
