Grenade appoints former Burton’s Biscuit ceo
Sports nutrition brand Grenade has appointed former Burton’s Biscuit Company ceo Ben Clarke as chairman.
From 2009–2016, Clarke led Burton’s under private equity ownership, during which time he oversaw the transformation of the business and its sale to a Canadian pension fund, as well as the sale of the Cadbury business to Mondelēz International.
Prior to this, he spent 15 years working for Kraft Foods in various senior management roles, including area director for Australia/New Zealand and area director for UK/Ireland.
Alan Barratt, co-founder and ceo of Grenade, said: “Ben’s appointment is an exciting step forward for us and we look forward to working with him to drive the business to the next level.
“His experience working with and growing food brands on a global scale will be hugely valuable to us as we continue to grow.”
