Confectionery manufacturer Jelly Belly has launched a new Mixed Emotions range of its ‘gourmet’ jelly beans.
The sweets are printed with a picture of a face instead of Jelly Belly’s logo, with each face corresponding to a different flavour – happy faces taste like lemon, while angry faces taste like hot cinnamon.
Vice president of global marketing Rob Swaigen said: “We’ve toyed with connecting feelings and flavours in various ways in the past.
“Emojis are a big part of how we communicate with each other through text, social media and in email and their popularity gave new life to this idea.”
The Mixed Emotions collection launches with a 28g bag sized for snacking and a 60g grab-and-go bag designed for sharing.
