City analyst Shore Capital’s appraisal of Morrisons boss David Potts’s first year was the most read story of 2016 posted this year, amassing 9,172 page views.
The outbreak of E.coli, which cost the lives of two people and made hundreds more ill, came in a close second, reaching 9,034 views in July.
An honourable mention goes to our coverage of a halal food manufacturer, posted in 2012, that was fined £10,000 after beef proteins were detected in its chicken kebabs. The story saw a huge spike of popularity in June with 11,235 page views.
