November: Top global food and drink trends for 2017
Traditional food ingredients and vegetarian products lead market analyst Mintel’s list of the top six global food and drink trends of 2017.
Mintel said that 2017 would be a year of “extremes”, with consumers choosing between more traditional approaches to food ingredients and using more technology.
The analyst also predicted a rise in products designed to help people sleep more easily, focusing on the benefits of chamomile and chocolate before bed.
The titles for its top six food and drink trends were In tradition we trust, Power to the plants, Waste not, Time is of the essence, The night shift and Balancing the scales.
