Sugar substitute for bakers
Dietary Foods hoped to supply the foodservice industry with a sugar alternative that can be used in baking preparations.
Sweet’N Low Stevia for Chefs comes in resealable 1kg tubs and can be used to replace 50% of the sugar required in baking, claimed the company.
Dietary Foods also said sugar in a recipe could be replaced with Sweet’N Low Stevia – at a ratio of 10:1 – if the sugar is only used to sweeten the food.
Nick Stillingfleet, commercial director at Dietary Foods, said: “This product is the result of many months of formulation and significant research and we are delighted that the product has gone through third-party testing with flying colours.”
“It is absolutely perfect for chefs from a timing perspective with so much press highlighting the need to significantly reduce sugar in our diets.”
