ADHB appoints acting chair following resignation
The Agriculture Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) appointed Gill Fine as acting chair of its beef and lamb sector board, following the resignation of Stuart Roberts last month.
Fine, who has held senior positions at the Food Standards Agency and Sainsbury, will carry out the role until a fulltime replacement is found. Recruitment for this role is expected to start in a few weeks.
AHDB chair Peter Kendall said Fine would make a “full contribution” to the important discussion between farmers, industry and growers and the ADHB.
Fine said the focus of the board would be to identify priorities and recommend strategy for the food sector and help farmers and processors be more competitive and sustainable.
“As part of this, we will continue to explore market opportunities at home and overseas for our beef and sheep meat products in ways which deliver value for money and real outcomes for levy payers,” she added.
