Vion appoints new boss
Dutch meat processor Vion Food Group appointed Belgian Francis Kint as its ceo, effective September 1.
Kint joins from veg producer Univeg where he had been ceo since 2013 and will take over from Tom Heidman, who had run Vion on an interim basis.
Prior to his two years at the helm of Univeg, Kint has held roles at desert manufacturer Sara Lee, banana producer Chiquita and Fiskars.
Sipko Schat, chair of Vion’s board of directors, said Kint had extensive experience working within the food industry.
“He is well versed in confronting the challenges of handling fresh products and has extensive experience in maintaining good relations with suppliers, clients and producers worldwide,” he said.
“Francis is also a facilitator par excellence, getting people and companies with different backgrounds and cultures to work together effectively.”
Vion also appointed Henk van den Bogaart director of human resources.
Den Bogaart will join the firm on October 1 from Dutch food manufacturer Wessanen.
Tom Heidman will now return to the supervisory board.
