Mars
If graduates are unsure of what they could achieve at Mars, then they could look no further than the chocolate giant’s current UK president, Fiona Dawson.
Dawson started as a graduate 30 years ago before working her way up to the top of the business.
Still being privately owned made Mars feel more like a community than a corporation, The Times said.
“That means it’s a place without any of the trappings of typical big business,” it said. “It has a sense of humanity and a lack of vanity around leadership. It’s somewhere that encourages open communication and collaboration, where people can get to grips with challenging work and take on high levels of responsibility early on.”
Mars provided plenty of support, financial sponsorship to pursue professional qualifications, extensive learning and development opportunities and personal mentoring, the Times claimed.
Graduates could expect high levels of responsibility, a variety of possibilities and the opportunity to improve things for everyone else along the way, it added.
Mars has roles in fields such as engineering, finance, general management, marketing, purchasing, research and development and sales with a starting wage of £28,300 to £30,000.
