Iceland recalls salmon over undeclared almond
Frozen food retailer Iceland was forced to recall one of its salmon products after it was found to contain undeclared almond protein, on April 8.
The paprika used in its manufacture was contaminated with almond protein. This meant the product was a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy to almond.
The affected product was its ‘2 Blackened Salmon Portions 260g’ with a best before dates of 29/07/2016, 02/08/2016 and 05/09/2016.
Anyone that had bought the affected products was encouraged to return it to their nearest Iceland store for a full refund.
People with any concerns or queries could also contact the store manager or call Iceland’s customer care line on 01244 842842.
