IGD convention 2014
Lynette Kucsma
Co-founder of Natural Machines, Lynette Kucsma, told delegates that her firm’s 3D food printer, Foodini, could transform the food production industry by providing fresh and nutritious foods.
Her speech even came complete with a live 3D printing of mashed potato, but here are the key quotes.
Kucsma: “I hope you get inspired to embrace 3D food printing and to see how it could potentially work for you in the future.
“3D printing is not a fad. 3D food printers can help us eat healthier … you can print fresh food using real, wholesome and healthy ingredients. You have an unlimited amount of ingredients to play with and can customise to your own personal taste.
“The range of food you can print is very wide: sweet food, savoury food, meals, snacks. Our proposition is not to say everything you eat can be 3D food printed, there’s some things that aren’t good for 3D printing – like a stew.
“This is real food, using real fresh ingredients. We actually envision a future when you’re going to see a 3D food printer in every kitchen.
“It is going to be a common kitchen appliance, you won’t be any more surprised to see a 3D food printer in a kitchen than if you walked into a kitchen today and saw an oven or a microwave.”
