Dairy giant Arla Foods reported “a landmark year” in the UK, where revenue climbed by 22% to £2.2bn, after its merger with Milk Link in 2012, according to its 2013 results posted today (February 19).
Arla Foods has won praise from farmers’ leaders after announcing a new pricing and sourcing strategy for milk, which starts with a significant increase in the price it will pay for milk.
Three milk processors have abandoned plans to cut the price they pay for milk on August 1, but farmers have pledged to continue their blockades of milk processing depots until all the price cuts are rescinded.
