Co-op appoints new boss of food business
Jo Whitfield has been appointed ceo of Co-op food, after a successful five-month period as interim ceo for the business. She replaces Steve Murrells, who moved on to become Co-op’s group ceo.
Whitfield joined the Co-op as food finance director from Asda in 2016, where she held various roles over eight years.
“It’s a great honour and privilege to become ceo at such an exciting time for Co-op Food and the Co-op as a whole,” added Whitfield.
“My role is to ensure that we continue to deliver on the great progress we’ve made over the past few years and I’m excited by that challenge.”
