Tea is blended on site after it goes through a rigorous quality control process.
“The tea comes in and is emptied through a sieve, which filters out any foreign objects,” Bagwell explained.
“It then goes along a conveyor through a metal detector. If metal is detected, it will go through the process again until it is found.
“The tea is blended [in the machine pictured] for 20 minutes. It creates a slight bottleneck for us, but it is essential we get the quality right.”
