Seafood shelf-life gets a boost with vacuum skin packs

Related tags Food Packaging

Extending the shelf-life of seafood using vacuum skin packs will be one of Mutlivac’s focuses at the forthcoming Seafood Processing Global trade fair, which takes place in Brussels from April 25 to 27.

MultiFresh is a process for packing delicate food products on thermoforming packaging machines and traysealers.

The upper web is tightly draped around the product and is sealed to the entire surface of the lower web. This means that even food products with sharp or hard parts, such as bones or shells, are enclosed securely.

Multivac will also be showing its fully automatic T 300 H, a high-output entry-level traysealer for skin packing a wide range of products in small to medium-sized batches.

It is designed for a broad spectrum of tray shapes and applications due to its die construction, which enables die changes to be quickly carried out.

Other kit on show will include Multivac’s entry-level R 105 MF thermoforming packaging machine, designed for producing vacuum skin packs and its Baseline P 605 double chamber machine for packing products in film pouches.
