New marketing director for frozen food firm
Frozen food manufacturer Birdseye has promoted Steve Challouma to the role of marketing director.
Challouma has spent 20 years with Birdseye, most recently serving as the firm’s category general manager across its Nomad fish portfolio.
He is to replace Steve Chantry, who is leaving the company to join Kraft Heinz UK & Ireland as its chief marketing officer.
Birds Eye UK’s md Wayne Hudson said: “Steve’s appointment demonstrates the vast amount of talent within the organisation, and I’m delighted to be drawing on his years of experience and knowledge as we enter the next exciting phase of growth.”
Challouma said he was looking forward to working closely with the Birds Eye marketing and brand teams as the business continued “rolling out our ambitious business plan throughout 2017”.
His appointment followed the departure of Peter Hajipieris, external affairs director of Birdseye owner Nomad Foods.
Hajipieris leaves after eight years with the company. He plans to remain in the food industry after taking a short break, it is understood.
