2013: Premier Foods
Premier Foods took home the award in 2013 in part for turning around its Ashford Factory that was earmarked for closure in 2007 into a successful operation.
The awards judges – led by panel chairman Paul Wilkinson – said: “Premier Foods has shown great skill in carrying out a major restructuring of its operation against a difficult backdrop, which has resulted in continuous year-on-year improvement.”
Premier also picked up the awards for Ambient food manufacturing company of the year and Training programme of the year.
Simon Ellmore, Premier Foods’ Ashford factory general manager received the Food manufacturing company of the year award from Mark Lynch, partner with category sponsor Oghma Partners. They were joined on stage by awards presenter and TV Countryfile star Julia Bradbury.
