Scottish craft brewer BrewDog has pulled Camden Town Brewery’s beers from its bars, after the north London craft brewer was acquired by global beer giant AB InBev.
The birth of a new global mega brewer moved a step closer today, as SABMiller revealed it had accepted “in principle” a higher takeover bid from rival Anheuser-Busch InBev, which valued the business at £44 a share.
The creation of a global mega-brewing giant worth around $275bn could be on the cards following news last month that Anheuser-Busch (AB) InBev was planning to make a bid for rival SABMiller in a deal potentially costing $130bn.
Soaring cider sales, thanks to innovative product design, meant the beverage now rivals the popularity of lager, according to a new report from market research group Mintel.
