Novel Bute Island Foods cheese lid causes challenges

A set of distinctively-shaped lids for a new range of dairy-free cheese from Bute Island Foods has been produced by Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury (formerly Chadwicks).

“The unusual shape of the packaging caused some challenges for us on the filling line. Not knowing whether this was machine or packaging-related we called on Bury’s expertise,” says Guy Crichton, director of Bute Island Food.

Paul Whelan, technical manager for lids at Clondalkin, adds: “Our job isn’t complete until the lids are securely on the customer’s pot or container, and if that requires additional technical support from us, then we are always on hand to offer advice, no matter where a customer is located.”

Bute Island Foods is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of vegan and dairy-free cheese products. Its ‘Sheese’ products can be found across the world.
