Frozen desserts for Valentine’s and Burns
Kent-based frozen dessert maker Simply Ice Cream has launched two new products to celebrate Valentine’s Day (February 14) and Burns Night (January 25) this year.
Simply’s Champagne flavoured sorbet will be in 120ml and 500ml tubs from regional farm shops, fine food stores and restaurants across London and the south east of England.
The sorbet is said to have a light texture with a hint of bubbles and a pleasantly sweet finish.
The artisan ice cream maker also launched a limited edition Atholl Brose flavoured ice cream for Burns Night this year.
The ice cream is made with whisky, Scottish oats, cream and honey, to replicate the flavour of the traditional Scottish drink.
“Atholl Brose is a traditional Scottish drink served for Burns Night celebrations and sometimes at Hogmanay,” said Sally Newall, Simply Ice Cream md.
“There has been such an increase in Burns Night celebrations even here in Kent that we wanted to create something that was delicious and a little bit different to add to the festivities.”
