Watch the moment Britvic Soft Drinks collected the coveted Training Programme of the Year trophy at the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards (FMEAs) earlier this month.

The firm’s Fran Ball and Ian Forrester explained to FoodManufacture.co.uk how they put their commitment to top training standards into practice on the shop floor.

Stiff competition

The firm fought off stiff competition in this FMEA category from Bakkavor – Hitchen Foods; Fairfax Meadow, Greencore Grocery and Tillery Valley to win the award at the Hilton Park Lane on November 5.

The firm also won the Beverage Manufacturing Company of the Year Award.

The overall award Food Manufacturing Company of the Year was won by Iglo Foods Group.

Meanwhile earlier this week, Britvic announced plans to merge with Irn-Bru maker AG Barr to create a £1.5bn business, which will trade under the name Barr Britvic Soft Drinks.

Gerald Corbett, Britvic non-executive chairman, said: “The merger of AG Barr and Britvic will create a world-class soft drinks company.”
