Marmite manufacturer Unilever has given the opinion-dividing spread a royal makeover to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

For a limited period, pots of Marmite have been renamed “Ma’amite” and will come with a new look jar to honour the Queen’s 60th year on the throne.

The brand has changed its famous yellow top to red and will be labelled with a union jack emblem featuring a picture of a crown.

The special spread will be available across UK stores from Monday April 30

Nicola Waymark, marketing manager at Unilever, said: “We wanted to pay a fitting tribute to the Queen – from one British institution to another. We just hope Ma’am loves it!”

The product was designed by Marmite’s creative partner, design firm Hornall Anderson UK.

Unilever has previously worked with the firm to produce limited edition offerings of the famous Marmite brand, including Guinness, champagne and chocolate flavours.
