MES gives meat control

Tracking and traceability

Meat processors are said to be offered full control over their production processes, with a Danish manufacturing execution system (MES) that identifies problems before they escalate, tracks and traces every single item and manages the stock.

ScanPlant from Scanvaegt provides meat processors with real-time and accurate data on the shop-floor operation. It provides a link between the overall enterprise resource planning system and the shop-floor data collection.

ScanPlant is based on the control of five key indicators: yield, throughput, giveaway, quality and food safety, and stock movements. It is possible to obtain control of real-time yield and plant utilisation.

Even the smallest deviations are reduced to a minimum while at the same time providing a real-time control of the quality and food safety of the process line. By adding stock movements to the control, production is optimised and storage costs cut.

Modules are available for: packaging and labelling; performance analysis of production data; performance monitoring -- presentation of dynamic and critical production data; tracking and traceability -- supporting forward and backward traceability; food safety -- supporting quality control concepts such as hazard analysis and critical control points; order execution -- supporting detailed planning of orders; stock management -- controlling stock automatically; data collection; hardware controls and management -- communicating with other process equipment; recipe control; and a reporting module.
