Morrisons must sell manufacturing assets
Morrisons hit our top headlines again when the business was encouraged to sell its manufacturing assets and concentrate on retail.
Rollits head of the food team Julian Wild again commented on the troubled retailer, declaring it should sell its manufacturing facilities to concentrate on price and, “more importantly”, being a retailer not a manufacturer.
City analyst Shore Capital disagreed and said Morrisons should make manufacturing a weapon.
What happened yet: Distraction or weapon, opinions differ. But the retailer remains the UK’s second largest manufacturer of fresh food.
