A manufacturer of meat products is recalling one of its widely sold pre-made dishes due to undeclared allergens.

Irish meat processor Carroll’s of Tullamore is recalling its Traditional Lasagne product because it contains undeclared egg and milk, which are not listed on the label.

All 350g packs of the dish with the use-by date 4 November 2026 have been withdrawn from sale. The product was distributed only in Northern Ireland.

As such, Carroll’s Traditional Lasagne poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg, or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

In a customer notice, the manufacturer said: “A fault with back of pack label may have resulted in undeclared allergens in the product and therefore the product should not be consumed by those who have an allergy to Milk and Eggs.

“Some units have the vegan lasagne back of pack label which does not declare Milk or Egg which is present in the traditional lasagne.”

The company added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your co-operation.”

Customers with an allergy or intolerance to egg or milk should not consume the product and should instead return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
