Unilever has recalled one of its widely sold Pot Noodle flavours due to the risk posed by an undeclared allergen.

The British manufacturer has pulled its Pot Noodle Piri Piri Chicken Flavour from shelves because it contains milk that is not declared on the label.

The recall covers all 90g packs of the product with a best-before date of May 2027 and the batch code L6232PB796.

This product contains milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone with a milk allergy or an intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

In a customer notice, a Unilever spokesperson said: “While milk is listed as a precautionary ‘may contain’ ingredient on the packaging, this could pose a safety risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.

“We are recalling this batch because the safety of people who buy and use our products is our top priority. We are sorry for any inconvenience and concern.”

The spokesperson added that no other Pot Noodle products were affected by the issue.

Customers with an allergy or intolerance to milk, or milk constituents, should not consume the product and should instead return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Alternatively, customers can contact the Unilever Consumer Care Line directly.
