York-based Bon Bon’s Wholesale Ltd has recalled a range of chocolate products because they contain milk and soya, which are not mentioned on the label.
The notice concerns specific batches of its Medium Coloured Ladybird, Small Red Ladybird, Large Red Heart, Mini Butterflies and Sports Car sweets. A full list of the affected best-before dates can be found on the Food Standards Agency website.
In its customer notice, the manufacturer said that the labelling is “not compliant in the UK” and that all of the listed products contain the allergens milk and soya.
The company confirmed that no other products are affected by this issue.
It added that retailers with remaining stock of the listed items should remove them from sale and contact their Bon Bon’s Wholesale Ltd representative.
A spokesperson added: “We take our responsibility to consumers extremely seriously and always aim to ensure the highest possible standards of product safety.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this product recall may cause.”
Individual customers can return the affected products to the store from which they were purchased for a full refund.
