Lean and green tops the agenda for Kinnerton

Factory general manager Mark Bullock explained that the factory was looking to fully embed a lean manufacturing programme, as well as working towards green and black belt lean six sigma qualifications.

In this exclusive video interview – filmed as part of our Me and my factory profile of the factory – Bullock explained: “We are progressing towards the end of our lean bit training and we will drive that home with lean focused teams and lean interventions in house.”​

An autonomous maintenance programme will be the next step for the factory, Bullock told FoodManufacture.co.uk​. That was designed to encourage engineers to take a more active role in problem solving.

‘Zero to landfill’​

“We have a green team onsite that drives our sustain agenda and took us to ‘zero to landfill’ a couple of years ago.”​
