A box and crate labeller from Marel has been upgraded to extend its use to wet seafood processing environments. A waterproof chassis and indicator has been added to the OCM9500 so that it can withstand full washdown to IP69K, subject to the printer being covered or removed.

The labeller is now suitable for automatic weighing and labelling applications in both wet and dry production environments. It can handle crates and boxes up to 40kg in weight, providing consistent weighing accuracy with automatic zero tracking. Speed is subject to box size and label print needs, but eurocrates of 600 x 400mm can be automatically weighed and labelled at speeds up to 35 units a minute.

Labels can be applied to the front and side of the box by a combination of up to eight label applicators, including the printing of barcodes, best before dates and product as well as warehouse tracking information. .

The OCM9500 is fully approved throughout Europe for use in weigh price labelling and checkweighing applications.
