Anuga FoodTec 2015
GEA
Processing equipment giant GEA demonstrated a wide range of solutions at its stand at the show, covering areas such as meat grinding and refrigeration to slicing and packaging.
But it was in dairy that the company made a name for itself, winning two Anuga FoodTec dairy technology awards, one for its ecoforce dairy decanter and one for its Provident Flow Analysis system.
The dairy decanter, one of several machines designed by GEA for different applications embracing a range of beverages and soy products as well as dairy, separates casein from whey or washing water.
The protein then has a variety of uses, for example, it can act as an emulsifier and stabiliser in meat and sausage products or as a foaming agent for confectionery.
GEA’s dairy decanters are created to full hygienic design guidelines according to three levels of standards: standard, comfort and advanced, and have extremely energy efficient drives, the company claims.
Meanwhile, its Provident Flow Analysis is a tool that integrates and optimises overall production management in food processes.
GEA also won a gold award at the show for its MultiDrum machine for created ‘southern style’ breaded products.
