SWA appoints Pernod Ricard boss
Pernod Ricard boss Pierre Pringuet was appointed as the new chairman of the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA).
Pringuet took over from Edrington ceo Ian Curle, who had held the role for three years and will remain on the SWA’s governing council.
He has been ceo of Pernod Ricard since 2008, having initially been appointed as joint ceo in 2000. He took on the responsibility of vice-chairman of the board of directors in 2012.
In other senior appointments, Ivan Menezes, chief executive of Diageo, and Richard Burn, global policy and public affairs director of Diageo, joined the SWA council.
Julie Hesketh-Laird was also appointed as SWA’s new deputy chief executive.
