Owen Paterson axed in cabinet reshuffle
Owen Paterson lost his role as secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs during a cabinet reshuffle this month.
Paterson, who had held the position since September 2012, was replaced by Conservative MP for south west Norfolk Liz Truss.
During his time in the role, Paterson complained “the badgers moved the goalposts” when asked why marksman had failed to reach their cull target in a controversial badger cull to control bovine TB in cattle.

His departure was met with a mixed reaction. National Farmers Union president Meurig Raymond praised Paterson for his understanding of farming and the food industry.
But the campaign group Friends of the Earth called him “the worst environment secretary the UK has had for decades”.
