A British frozen food firm whose products were stocked in more than 1,000 independent supermarkets across the UK has collapsed.

Walsall-based Quality Bites Ltd, which specialised in halal frozen food, has ceased trading after entering liquidation.

Founded in 2013, the company offered a range of ethnic frozen foods, including samosas, kebabs, crispy chicken, burgers and non-pork sausages.

Quality Bites worked with retailers, wholesalers and distributors across the UK focusing on halal and Asian food products.

The company’s products were stocked by SaveCo Halal Supermarket in Bradford, Asian food wholesaler and distributor Variety Foods, and online halal butcher One Stop Halal Meat.

Quality Bites was voluntarily wound up on 7 October 2026, and Deviesh Raikundalia, based at the London office of Australian firm Hall Chadwick, was appointed liquidator.

The collapse comes as the UK food sector continues to grapple with challenging economic conditions ahead of 2027, with food inflation forecast to rise sharply and peak at between 6.4% and 7.0% by July.
